commissioning public art
Public art (also known as site specific art) can be created for public or private property - it is art intended for public viewing. The works can be for parks, development sites, water-towers, shopping centres, silos... anywhere. The art can be temporary or permanent.

each2each can work with art planners, or can effectively manage the arts project ourselves. We can collaborate with other artists, architects and urban designers.
Our expertise is visual artwork - including paintings and murals. We manage the creation of the artwork, which entails research, planning and execution. Contact us to discuss any aspects of your project.
research
A clear understanding of the project brief will be used as the framework for further research.
We will integrate the historical, social and cultural context of a site by first undertaking comprehensive research and community consultation. That research will include site visits and the review of all visual and historical documents available.
The site appraisal will include review of the area's ecology, Indigenous significance, early European activity, and contemporary history. Consultation is key to this research stage, and we concentrate our efforts on involving people and organisations in the project.
design concepts
Key locations for artwork will be identified, and design concepts will be presented for review. If there are several works of art to be included in a site, care will be taken to ensure that all share a relationship.
We will determine the most appropriate materials for use, ensuring protection against UV-light and vandals. Where required, we will ensure that all development approvals are obtained, and that we identify any public safety issues.
approval
We will then create full-colour, to-scale, roughs for review and approval. The opportunity for input and revision will be presented to all commissioning parties. Where possible, we will seek to involve local artists and the community in the creation of the actual mural artwork.
artwork
We will paint the final murals, and ensure that any sub-contracting is organized, and that timelines are managed effectively.
each2each will also ensure that a photographic record is kept of the mural creation, community involvement, and final artworks. Co-ordinating publicity and assisting with any opening events is also part of our expertise.
