commissioning private murals
Private murals are those that are painted in places that are not intended for public viewing, for example in private houses. For information on public art, please click here.
To commission a private mural, there is some simple information that you can provide us that will help us understand the scope of the project:
think about what you want the mural to depict. It can be as simple as brightening up an area, or more complex such as invoking a feeling or mood, or you might want the mural to tell a story or history.
have a look at our murals and illustrations pages to see if there is any particular style you prefer.
measure the area for the mural, and determine what base the mural is to be painted on (plaster, walls, boards, bricks, metal etc).
determine your budget for the mural.
think about accessibly - will there be a need for scaffolding, is there sufficient natural light available, is the mural to be painted off-site and then installed?
compile a list of contact people who would like input in to what is painted.
think about any preferred date for completion - allowing sufficient time for research, preparation, and painting of murals.
if the project is not in the Sydney basin, options for accommodation.
